Dojo Events, Workshops, and Announcements

IN JANUARY, ALL ADULT CLASSES ARE FREE FOR NEW STUDENTS! If you’re new to our dojo, just show up at any class, 30 minutes before the scheduled start time. Wear long pants you can move in and bring a water bottle. Click here for our class schedule.

Friday, December 20th: No classes — dojo closed for special event.

Sunday, December 22nd: No classes — dojo closed for special event.

Weeks of December 23rd & December 30th: Family Aikido Program closed for Winter Break (all adult classes will meet as usual).

Tuesday, December 24th: We are OPEN on Christmas Eve for our regular Tuesday evening class.

Tuesday, December 31st: We are OPEN on New Year’s Eve for our regular Tuesday evening class.

Tuesday, January 7th: Family Aikido Program classes resume.

Sunday, January 26th: Join us for a free aikido class and potluck party! Arrive at 12:30pm for class, then stick around afterward for the 2:30pm potluck and party. Family and friends welcome (they can participate in the class, or just show up at 2:30 for the party).

Sunday, April 19th: Longtime dojo member Dave Philhower tests for shodan (1st degree black belt). If you’re a dojo member, come join us on the mat for training and then for the test. And if you’re a member of the broader dojo community, come watch the test! Show up at 12:30pm if you’ll be on the mat, or at 2:30pm if you’re watching. We’ll finish up at 4pm and then go out and celebrate.

Sunday, May 17th: Longtime dojo member Steve Tomich tests for sandan (3rd degree black belt). If you’re a dojo member, come join us on the mat for training and then for the test. Friday, June 19th: No classes — dojo closed for special event.

Our Family Aikido Program closes for Spring Break, Winter Break, and some holidays. Classes for adults meet on all holidays except Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
